Re: American TT Wheelsets

Rod that looks great. doing that in TT would be a big ask though. However given enough time and with some of the stuff available from shapeways it would be doable. That said it would be a lot of work and very time consuming. Where are you in the UK

Re: American TT Wheelsets

Excellent - thanks very much one and all. There are not many TT modellers in the UK, and even less modellers of US TT. You can probably count them on the fingers of one hand (or even on one finger). Maybe this post will flush a few of them out. I modelled in British TT (3mm scale) for over a decade...

Re: Train from China to the UK

"Train from China to the UK" I wonder if the UK Brexit voters will try to ban this train too? Perhaps Europe should just leave the UK to simmer in it's own weak sauce?.....DaveB Why would they do that? China owes half of the UK and if you noticed the locomotive, it is German owned as is most of the...

Re: Steam Locomotive Scratch Building

In fact, I would advise you to be careful - many small US threads may appear quite similar to metric and may seem to fit the hole, until you're 6-8 turns in, when things bind up and you find you have succeeded in buggering the threads... :wall: Easy fix. Drill out the threads. Solder in a plug and ...

Re: Switching Layout - 2nd Try

Dwayne, very nice layout. Lots of options within a compact area. BTW, did that site remove the VAT since you are in the US? They seem to have pretty good prices. The place in the UK I used to buy stuff from closed. Hi Sacto-tt Can I be nosey and ask what was the name of your UK supplier that closed

Re: Steam Locomotive Scratch Building

Richard Edmonds might be able to shed more light here!). Worsley Works offered a couple fold up chassis etches and I think they include the rods as well. You could use brass "top hat" bearings soldered in for the axle The Worsley chassis were just a generic design similar to the HP chassis that I as...

Bernd you make me laugh mate, the way you just knock something up is amazing, what you did there would be two weeks work for me. Keep it up, I just love waiting for your next posting as it is always something different. Your enthusiasm is inspiring
