Re: Remotoring HP Products small steamers.

Hate to say it but I've looked at the same idea over the years and I don't think direct drive with a can motor will fit. I don't think you could even grind out enough room and I don't want to destroy a vintage boiler to see! Regular HP locos are heavy, and to get a strong enough motor rated like a D...

Re: Repairing a DC-60 Motor

I'm not sure if the plates are soldered to the armature and then the wire soldered to the plates? I'd probably try to epoxy the plate on then solder, instead of risking too much heat burning off the wire insulation. What I usually do is swap parts from an HO version. I've picked up new DC-60's and j...

Re: Automobiles

Boss, can this post by Arseny be moved up and maybe made sticky? Good info here! 69 Coronet.jpg And an example of what I'm talking about, a nice boring 1969 Dodge Coronet 4 door. This pic (stolen from an ebay auction) shows one in Erie Lackawanna company service, complete with ladder rack! A chevelle...

Re: Automobiles

We need more boring cars (like my family drove back then, old people cars!). Lots of 2 and 4 door of various makes, 1960's or 1970's Please! Chevy Caprice, Bel Aire, Vega Ford Galaxy, LTD, Maverick Dodge/ Plymouth Polara/Fury, Coronet/ Belvidere, Dart and Valiant (these would be easy, the Dodge and ...

Re: Zeuke-TT, what's new?

i think both options are fine Rob.
The Apex would be my first choice for roof walk if I use one on a particular car, i will probably do a mix of cars with and without. The one thing I would ask is make it easy to not have a roofwalk, if there is a hole for a mounting pin don't make it too big!

Re: CB&Q Box Car on ebay

LOL! Well I was just lucky to be able to learn from several of the original TT'ers, guys like John Harmon, Larry Sayre and Jerry Golembowski (and others). I won't say I know every TT kit but if those guys knew about it I'm sure they would have said something. I wanted to model 1970 but there wasn't ...

Re: CB&Q Box Car on ebay

It has to be scratchbuilt, and I wonder if it is even really TT or there's a seller that has no clue? The trucks do look like Kemtron/Joma, and there were some cast (non operation) TT knuckle couplers but it could be HO. I'd ask the seller what the length of the body was before I'd bid (and I'm not b...

Re: Some 3D modelling

I think the truck wheelbase was 8 feet 6 inches (from memory so that could be wrong), so the sw1200 trucks would be a little short and the GP trucks from Lok N Roll would be a little long. Maybe there's something else that would be closer from Tillig or Halling? Lots of good info here, with some nic...
