It started off badly, I messed up one of the first pairs I cut out and had to try and make replacements from the spare card stock on the ends....

Re: My first efforts..

Thanks for both of those suggestions MacG!

This is the latest, an N scale boxcar I enlarged to TT. Not real promising, detail wise. I got the file free on Thingverse, it was in sections like a flat kit so I might be able to do something with it.

Re: My first efforts..

Al that looks really good. Detail is there, no warping, no striations. Honestly it looks better than a lot of the stuff from Shapeways. Is it strong though? The resin that came with the machine is brittle, so I'm sure the small details like the corner steps wouldn't last long with much use. There a...

Re: My first efforts..

A friend of mine said, 3D-Printing is a hobby in itself. I think that's true. I can see that being true, there's a lot of fiddling around to get everything right. And I had problems with my machine out of the box, so that put me behind. I ordered the machine (Anycubic Photon Mono 4K) in April, it a...

My first efforts..

At 3D printing. I finally got the machine working ( a long story itself) but this was my first model RR print. This was after a quick coating of primer, the resin I used is translucent so it doesn't photograph well otherwise.

Did you ever watch Colossus, the Forbin Project? It's an old movie (1970) but they gave a view on AI way back then!

And excellent work on the photos!

Re: TiTan's workbench

Nice work Ian! reminds me that I have to get busy and build (or at least finish) something!
Just finishing up with my second cataract surgery, so I can actually see a bit better, so no more excuses.

Online Clinics

There are a few online clinics next Saturday the 16th put on by Speedwich Media ( a producer of HO resin car kits) They have them every couple months, it's free and there are some really good presentations. You need to go to the Speedwiich site and register, and they'll send you the link for the mee...
