Beside the railroad, there were also nice ship models.

US TT scale on the modell-hobby-spiel fair

Last weekend, Richard from TT WEST and I met at the modell-hobby-spiel fair at Leipzig, Germany. There was a really nice US prototype TT scale layout. For us, it was definitely the highlight of the fair. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52404301716_10e1a09e5e_z.jpg US TT scale layout on Leipzig f...

Yes, it is indeed a bit scary that you can create such a picture without drawing a single line just by telling the AI with key words of how the picture should look like. And this is just the beginning.

Re: AI in model railroading? Yes, indeed!

Very interesting Joern. Are you able to specify the angle of the view, or is it up to the AI? You can not directly specify the angle of viewing but you can give the AI some advice of how the viewing angle and the light should look like. The AI offers you several variations of the picture (usually 4...

AI in model railroading? Yes, indeed!

Have not posted in this forum for quite a while. Those, who still remember my older postings or follow my accounts on Flickr, Deviantart, or Instagram, know that I made many photo scenes in which I combined model photos with virtual backgrounds or environments. At first, I used edited photos, later ...

My stay-at-home project

In meantime, I finished the stay-at-home project I mentioned in March in the 'What's on youe bench' section. That was designed to fit into an office storage box of which the cover is used as a backdrop. http://www.joernpachl.de/corona%20jct%20with%20bookshelf%20klein.jpg The diorama shows a fictitio...

Re: What's on the bench?

As a stay-at-home project during the corona curfew, I started to build a new US prototype diorama. It's a fictitious small station somewhere in the Rust Belt. Next step will be ballasting.
