Re: RIP Florian Schneider

Tonight was supposed to be a Kraftwerk concert in Vancouver, but Covid killed that. I'll find a concert on Youtube and watch that tonight.

Re: 2020 Shows in Greater Vancouver

The table is finished.

Reasonably stable. Not suited for heavy loads but good enough to hold up a return loop. The legs are removable. May paint it blue. Need some dry weather to do that.

Re: TT-Tracks

Been working on module five of the industrial area. I had started to apply ballast. 20200614_module 5 with ballast.jpg But decided I did not like the result. 20200614_ballast removed.jpg So I removed it. 20200614_gluing cork.jpg Then I glued HO Scale cork roadbed and sheet down. 20200614_filler appl...

Re: TT-Tracks

With the comment from the Chilliwack show about insurance, I been talking with other groups about what they do. The best idea seems to become an all NMRA member group. They provide coverage for such groups who display at shows. The dues are not too bad and we could use one of the show honorariums to...

Re: Random Cat Photos

New to us a week ago Friday night, these sisters. About six years old. 20200529_234534.jpg Piper (long hair) and Phoebe. Originally with an older couple. Then when they went into a care home, moved to their daughters house with children. They did not do well there, so given to Vokra to find a new ho...

Re: 2020 Shows in Greater Vancouver

I realized yesterday that I underestimated the number of tables needed. For the two new loop corners, the bigger one will sit nicely on a six foot and four foot table as diagrammed. The two four foot sections are strong enough. The new corner needs more support as it is built of smaller pieces. So I...

Re: TT-Tracks

Moderately productive today. Along with a run to recycle, some shopping and cleaning house to prepare for two new cats, I built two sets of stairs for the warehouse. 20200519_202609.jpg It turns out that 1/16" is the right height for a step. So layers of 1/16" basswood, glued in a stack, sanded smoo...

Re: TT-Tracks

Some good ideas there. I have tried the layers method. Takes too long for me, and more chances to screw it up. The Tillig sheet is interesting but way too expensive by the time I get it here. Have to allow for the new normal of more expensive shipping from Europe. Although my current idea does work,...

Re: TT-Tracks

Not doing as much as I should, but getting a bit done. 20200518_164952_copy_1457x819.jpg The guides to hold the bottom of the warehouse are now in place. The ballasting between the tracks is an experiment. I am trying to bury the bedding track in ballast so the track does not look so prominent. I wa...

Re: 2020 Shows in Greater Vancouver

It needs four six foot tables. I have three and can borrow the fourth from work. Check. It needs five four foot tables. I have one. We either find/borrow four four-foot by two-foot tables, or we make them. One sheet of 4' x 8' plywood could be cut up to make four tables. Add some basic 2"x2" bracin...
