Re: KM1 System 7 DCC Controller

As you may have found already the information links offered by KM1 yield zero results. Perhaps you can ask Eurorail Hobbies - it's listed on their web site. Do you plan to use it with the Z21 through the sniff bus? Or use it as a booster? 20 volts @ 7 amps. Looks like it's meant for large scales. - ...

Re: Canadian steamers from German models...

Tillig's BR50 has all four wheels for the tender driven by a motor in the tender. The locomotive drivers are free rolling. Mine is an older model but I think the latest models are much the same. Drivers = 10.37 mm / 0.41 in. diameter Tender wheels = 8 mm / 0.62 in. diameter Wheel base of each tender...

Re: Canadian steamers from German models...

BR38 from Beckmann has drive in locomotive, decoder in tender. At least my older one does. It's not the same version of BR38 as Tillig's (Saxon 38 vs Prussian P8)

Re: DC trains using DCC

Decoder output to motor is through rectifier diodes. it is pulsed DC. In order for the motor to use the DCC power, the power must be converted to Direct Current. To do this, decoders use a Diode Matrix (see image). A diode matrix routes the digital signal to provide a DC signal to power the decoder....

Re: DC trains using DCC

Instead of Command station DCC - Track - [Decoder DC] - Locomotive motor it's Command station DCC - [Decoder DC] - Track - Locomotive motor You keep locomotive capacitors, chokes, coils, whatever off the track so they don't interfere with DCC commands going to the decoder in the locomotive. This arr...

DC trains using DCC

Late 2019 I learned about the luxury cruise trains which run in Japan, and was fascinated by one of them, the Train Suite Shiki-Shima. I got a model from Tomix (N scale only) and set up a track around my bedroom wall to run it. I had bought a kit for a DC power pack which has PWM to take advantage o...

Re: Another Russian train to model?

Maybe you are all too young to know. The Russians stole the idea from the Americans! Here is irrefutable evidence! (American Flyer S scale)

Re: Tillig 2020 New Items catalogue

At the end of the 2020 catalog is a photo of E77 locomotive. Does anyone know if this is HO or TT? There is still the electric locomotive 194 178-0 of the Rail4U GmbH of epoch VI as a one-time edition 2020 (Einmalauflage). Now the Epoch IV DB variant of the same loco number was announced. Be warned:...
