Re: My first efforts..

Yeah the resins capable of more intricate details tend to be more brittle. I wonder if there's a way to "impregnate" a resin model. Like have it print around a metal core. Then the brittleness is limited to the fine details which are always easily breakable regardless of the material they'...

Re: New Naples Street

I don't have a computer available for AnyRail right now (it only works with PC). Basically, the left hand switch in your fiddle yard, substitute it for an even tighter angle (overall shorter) one and then place another one back to back against it. You may have to use Kuhn or Tillig switches though t...

Re: My first efforts..

Al that looks really good. Detail is there, no warping, no striations. Honestly it looks better than a lot of the stuff from Shapeways. Is it strong though?

Re: New Naples Street

Looking good! If it were me, I'd add one more switch and one more track in the fiddle yard. Yes it would be very short but enough for a locomotive. I've realized over the years that cramming as much track as possible in staging/fiddle yards is never a bad thing.

FYI, the board email service is spotty. I'm addressing it but don't know when I'll be done.

Re: AI in model railroading? Yes, indeed!

I'm scared of AI... Yes, it is indeed a bit scary that you can create such a picture without drawing a single line just by telling the AI with key words of how the picture should look like. And this is just the beginning. Do you know how these AIs work? You know those "security" images we...

Ian I'm a bit confused about payment. How do we make the $20/car deposit? Where do we do that on their site? Or do we email them?

Did you ever watch Colossus, the Forbin Project? It's an old movie (1970) but they gave a view on AI way back then!
Haven't seen it but appreciate the suggestion
