Re: Roco's back

Oooh, nice! I regret never buying the Russian M62 they made previously. I guess the CSD version will do the job when it is released (with a repaint and probably some mods...), and hoping a Russian one will be released in due course. Looks like my nuclear train will get a loco after all :)

Re: Bigelov's projects

The wire I have been using is nickel-silver from Albion Alloys, available locally. I have it in 0.2 (0.008") and 0.33mm (0.013") diameter. I also have some K&S brass and aluminium rod and tube, starting at .5mm (0.020"). I would like to get the wire in phosphor bronze, but will have to order that in...

Re: Bigelov's projects

I have ordered some decoders. For the SW9 and another (TGK2 model from Piko to be repainted Russian). With the SW9 up and running I have moved to Meeker Southern caboose MSN10046, ex Northern Pacific (and then BN) from the late 60's. I posted a part completed 3D drawing on the previous page, and hav...

Re: Howdy

Hi there TTrucker. Can't say I'm into the older TT stuff (mind you I do have my fair share of BTTB locos...) but TT is just a great size :)

Re: Fairbanks-Morse H10-44 photos

There is just something about those FM locos, a smoothness to their blocky form. Great pics, and of the roof also! Well done.

Re: Bigelov's projects

Thanks for the info Rod. I suspected the decoder was the issue. I do have a spare so will switch it out to see how it goes, but because it is so thick I will look at getting a thinner one. I have ground the shell a bit to make it fit also, but it is still too thick. I found another thread which list...

Re: Bigelov's projects

1-2.5 sec exposure time would speed up the print time dramatically! The tank on my cryogenic car took 12 hours to print... But I have made some more progress. The cryogenic car is painted and assembled. I soldered handrails and adapted leftover photoetch fret to make the metal parts. It is a little ...

Re: N P woodchip car

MacG, The letters were flaked using a fibreglass pen/scratch brush. You rub it over the surface to remove some of the decal printing. As for the weathering, I tried hard not to do too much on the first pair. It's easy to get carried away! The paint seems to have stood up well on these cars, so just ...
