Re: Train Show Attire

At one show I went to a father and daughter were exhibiting a small layout. The daughter was about eight and quite adept at operating the trains. They were both dressed in a sort of station master's outfit, complete with hat and red waistcoat. They looked very smart. Despite my previous post - ha ha...

Re: Train Show Attire

One has to look one's best.
I wear a three-piece woollen suit, a silk shirt and socks, Oxford brogues, a cravat and a fedora. When it was really hot last August I removed the cravat.
Every time someone passes by my layout I tip my hat to them.

I'm only joking...
...I never remove the hat.

There may also be some HOm parts suitable from Halling, under Drive technology or Accessories. I know 3mm scale modellers in the UK use them.

Re: Sorrento Park (was New Naples Street)

I've already got this new layout booked into two shows this year, in August and September. So that's five months or so to finish it - there's nothing like a deadline to get you focused. Should be plenty time actually, but it's the first time I've been in that position. My previous layouts were well ...

Re: Hornby 2022/23

Ah yes, I see what you mean. Assuming he bought it online from Hornby as a member of the TT club he must be aiming to sell it on for more than the 15% discounted price he bought it for.

Re: Hornby 2022/23

There are already some Hornby TT items on sale on ebay UK, e.g. this and a few more from someone who has seemingly decided against it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374533387151?hash=item5733edf38f:g:zNYAAOSw7ntj-lt6&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoFtetE8UgqxlEawmDvcIsWzxdfrCzYn5Xo%2BsFOu3v%2FkYYr90PQU1DofIu...

Re: Hornby DCC

There are a couple of pages about it in the latest edition of their TT Club magazine, though obviously it's suitable for any scale. They are certainly not letting the grass grow under their feet.

Re: Naples sTreeT - a Micro Switching Layout

The layout is now ready for sale, minus a few items I've removed for use on my next layout. Just in case anybody on this forum is interested I thought I'd give you first dibs. It would need to be collected from the UK. Send me a PM if you are interested and I'll supply a full description with photos.
