Re: Back on Board!!!

The file I tried to attach in pm was a photo (jpg).
I made a work around by posting it in the thread and then adding a link to it in the pm.

Re: What's on the bench?

There was plenty of clearance. It was the friction of the flat/blunt axle just dragging in the sideframes with the extra weight of the coach body. Tried oil, grease & graphite all to little avail. With the pin point axles they most certainly roll now. My glass top workbench has a 1 degree slope on ...

Re: What's on the bench?

OK, seeing as we're still basically stuck at home with the virus thing, I'll try and do a video on the week-end. I still have one original Rokal truck, one with the Mueller Rokal relacements and then my modified versions. I found that the Mueller replacement versions span quite well when holding th...

I found Ian's 2-bay hoppers too light for reliable operation. Therefore, I made some weights for them using laser cut. Some of the fine rivets on the inner side of the slopes would be hidden. I'd recommend filling the gap between the weight's top and the hopper's end. It is also OK without. The weig...

Re: Shell Welder Tanker

Hi all Has anybody built a "British Coastal Tanker SHELL WELDER / Scale Model Kit 1/130"? It has been available for a few years under a dozen or so different manufacturers. I was curious how good it is. It is short, about 403mm and might fit in a module scene. The kit was made by British Frog compa...

Re: Prr maroon red paint

Here is a picture of the only use of the maroon red paint on PRR, "Fleet of Modernism" paint scheme. https://i.imgur.com/7dRzsPH.jpg Is this what you are working on? If not then we can drop the maroon and find out what you need (Tuscan red). The PRR Passenger car Painting and Lettering book has it a...
