Re: U30b imaterialise

Ian, Sorry to hear about your wife's health issues. Hope she gets better. Glad to hear that the plates fit. Looking forward to seeing your units running. Also I'm suspending all projects in TT scale and have decided to pursue my HO scale projects. I've come to the conclusion that I can't work in two...

Re: Two Stall Enginehouse

Well I’ve got several other projects going at once. While my CNC mill was busy making a jig I got to finishing up planking the walls of the engine house. Finished up the window on the other end of the engine house. http://www.kingstonemodelworks.com/TTscale/Engine%20House/IMGEH99.JPG Once I got the ...

Re: Two Stall Enginehouse

I just had to make one more with a jig. I was looking at the left over piece of wood with the bore. http://www.kingstonemodelworks.com/TTscale/Engine%20House/IMGEH65.JPG I came up with the idea that I could use a thin slice to hold everything together while I soldered it. It worked pretty good. http...

Re: Two Stall Enginehouse

Bernd, that's an awful lot of work but, the finished, installed window does look fantastic. Don't think I'll try anything like that on my little Unimat as I could just about guarantee I'll end up with nothing but mangled wire and broken drill bits. Ian Thanks Ian. I see you have the lathe that used...

Re: Two Stall Enginehouse

Here’s a step by step build of the round TT scale window. I based the window size on the two vertical beams at the center of both the front and rear walls. I needed an outside diameter of .500”. The outer rim of the window was made .550” diameter. Gives a nice .025” lip on the round window. This is ...
