also, somebody on shapeways has coalveyer cars for sale which are a natural behind an sd 70.

Pobably a bad time to ask, but is .05" (1.27mm) a good thickness for resin casting? That's what I've been making everything except for the angled fan section. It's a .37" thick solid piece. I can hollow out the bottom out it if needed.

.050 should be fine- the GP38 shell is less than that (about .045) and I have one of those Shapeways Kraus Maffei shells, it's even less than that- about .035

A nice work. I could to grow weaker to model the modern railroad. Last weekend I saw the prototype of the 1:120 Maxi Stack I rolling. A couple of this and the SD70ACe would be a nice train.
