The black SW sounds like it can use a lube.

It has been lubed, the motor was going out in it.

Well, we are open to some ideas for the TT layout for the Train Room. We are trying to decide on the number of layouts for the room as well. It looks like there will be a TT Layout of good size, a S Gauge layout of around 5x8 or so, and a small table oval layout for a loop of OO track is likely.

With the VA saying "stand by" for more scans and possible surgery (spine issues suck), we are working on making the Train Room into a part Train Room / Part Den to recover in, some of the allotted space for trains has been taken up by furniture and such.

Already we have moved a bed in the room (queen size), and a fridge is likely to keep ice packs in will be moved in soon.

Soon, I will have a layout of the room figured out, I just need to figure out how to fill it.

Ideas for layouts are encouraged, just keep in mind that continuous (i.e. not end to end only) operation is a must.

A shelf all the way around with a lift out where the door is. That's what I would do :)

I don't know about a lift out, perhaps a swing bridge or something like that.

Well, here is a rough plan of the room as it sits now, as far as stuff that is going to stay in place:

I realized too late that I was using a green pen that would not show up as well as I hoped.

" using a green pen that would not show up as well as I hoped"

The green looks fine to me.
I'd probably just work on some freight cars or other small modeling project until I got my health problems resolved. A layout takes a lot of energy that might be used in other ways to help the healing process. Perhaps draw up a plan for a layout that could eventually go around the walls then just build one section at a time as you feel like it? A six foot section can keep one occupied for quite some time building scenery and structures, and with a couple of turnouts can be used to switch a few cars.....DaveB

That is one thing that I have considered: building the beast one bone at a time. As far as running trains for now is concerned, the layout I got from ConducTTor mostly suffices. Resolution is likely to never fully come, so all I can do is at least something.

It looks like that there will be approximately 12 feet by 14 feet of the room that will be set aside for the large TT layout.
