Well, we got an interesting bit of news not that long ago:

The road expansion project has been called off, due to a lack of need for additional lanes of traffic. The bridge near us will still be replaced, but the realignment that may be done will only cut about 5-10' into our property, if even that. Considering that the house is 160' from the road, and the barn that I want to make into a train barn is another 70' further back, we should be good to build a permanent layout again.

Well, a bit of contradictory news: the expansion project is not cancelled, but rather postponed for now.

Concurrently my medical issues have somewhat flared up and the VA in Georgia has been doing nothing to help, so we are selling the farm in GA and have moved to Minnesota. We are still getting set back up again, but at least this time we have the portable layout to unpack and use.
