Russian railway scene

Russian railway scene

Postby jpachl » Sun Nov 17, 2013 12:17 pm

I used the weekend to make up a temporary photo diorama of a fictitious Russian railway scene. Just to have a reason to take some of my Russian rolling stock out of the boxes.

That's quite a problem. All the Peresvet equipment comes with former BTTB standard couplers. Since there are no standard coupler fittings, it's difficult to replace them by Kadee couplers. I did it on a few freight cars, but most of my Russian rolling stock still has the old couplers.

The July issue of Russian magazine Lokotrans has dedicated an entire page to that diorama.

@Bernd
At least, there is some TT scale folks. I will just post a blog entry every now and then and see what happens.

German small batch manufacturer Hädl makes SA-3 couplers in TT scale:

http://www.mbs-sebnitz.de/tt-einzelteile-umruestsatz-fuer-einen-kesselwagen-von-peresvet-auf-russische-mittelpufferkupplung-s.html

The couplers are designed to fit to Peresvet tank cars. They can only be coupled manually, however.
