ROCO BR 120 048 DR

ROCO BR 120 048 DR

ROCO article number 36230 (analog). The model is beautiful (I am speechless). I like everything about it, but two things. The head lights are not yellowish like in real life because the company uses SMD LEDs, not miniature lightbulbs like in their BR 132 models, and the second thing is that it is not equipped with marker lights (because there is no space for them).

This one (BR 120 036 with wide white stripe on both cabs, intrerupted in the door areas and continued as thin shape on the sides, also with different grab bars in the front and back) could be added to the fleet by ROCO!

I'm surprized that they've launched a model of the initial version. Later versions had 3 panel radiator grilles.

By the way:
It's an early version, but a late era.
Initially, all locomotives of this type had chrome trims at the fronts. Later most of them were removed.

I saw the NEWS from ROCO and they have one planned for this year with the chrome trims under the windshields (like you mentioned above), but I'm not sure if it is the earlier version of the real life prototype (like the one shown in the photo with thin side stripes), or it's just another one that was modified at Meiningen shops. I have to look at the ROCO model again. Could be another model similar to art. num. 36230.

36270[1].jpg

ROCO new 2013 models, article number 36270 (analog) and article number 36271 (digital with sound) both versions of BR 120 with roof exaust silencers (same as art. 36230), type Meningen, with chrome trimmings, of DR, era IV. I believe the running (operational) number as shown on the model presented by ROCO in their initial photo is 120 198-7 (I might be wrong), that could always change.
