remotoring HP MU car

remotoring HP MU car

Postby Murad » Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:57 pm

About a year ago i've got an MU car in very poor condition. The rubber band was worn-out and the motor was almost dead. You now it's pretty hard to find spare parts for HP models in Russia. I say it's impossible :) But i had some mitsumi M15N-3 motors and а piece of an eraser.
Here what I do have now.

I scratch-built a chassis using a friction drive.

The motor has a small brass pulley with a "U" grove in it to fit the "O" ring on the driven pulley. The flat piece of metal is a piece of spring steel to help hold down the motor that is pivoted on a hinge. I got this idea from this site: http://www.nigellawton009.com/Micro_Motor_and_Friction_Drive_Chassis_Application_Notes.pdf or his home page: http://www.nigellawton009.com/VeeTipper.html
