Some Russian guys advised me to use Tillig's BR218 diesel as a power unit for Alco FA.
It seems to have almost the same dimensions as PVM required.
The distance between truck centers is 2mm longer... but maybe it nevertheless will be ok?

The start version is cheap enough (the price is $100-110 in Russia)

What is your opinion about the trucks? Would the Tillig trucks work ok?

Hadn't thought of that. I'll have to try it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

The 218 chassis won't work. Distance between truck centers is too much. See my response here br-218-donor-a-note-about-t1492.html
