Possible Halloween Southern California

With the lack of interest and funds, it looks like the trek to LA won't happen.

I think the choice is now: Chilliwack or VTE (and/or for some...)

If we do only one day of TT at Chilliwack, then VTE would be more worthwhile for you. The difficulty is the same as for LA. Bill Dixon is the only one with a van for hauling the TT Tracks layout.

For LA perhaps I could bring small corner modules down on Amtrak. I have no car, so accommodation and transportation in LA is a challenge. The corners with modules from California, assuming they're completed, could make a long oval display.

For Chilliwack, possibly with modules from California and from Voytek we could have a smaller display Saturday and expand it Sunday when Bill and Tibi bring the rest. But this is only a possibility and VTE on the other hand is an assured event for the whole weekend.

We can share a motel, that is close to the Botanic Garden, and the Long Beach Blue Line station. There is a bus along Pacific Coast Highway, so if you wanted to go into LA or other sights, it would not be too tough.

Thank you for your kind offer. Give me some time to think over the possibilities.

I'll be running around doing non-rail stuff, but I am interested in railstuff, too.

I might even visit the La Brea Tar Pits, if you are into natural history.

Not to mention odd railfan stuff (Highway 99) along the way.

Here's an LA museum possibility. (I gotta get there some day fairly soon.)

Time has gone by too rapidly - I should have written earlier that I won't be doing this event. No one else north of the border is interested and travel to LA with TT gear is too much for me to manage on my own. I notified the organizer of the show last month. If anyone in California wants to display TT at the show, I can provide the name of the show co-ordinator.

Unfortunately... Southern California has been relatively devoid of TT-scale activity for a number of years.

I never had more than a couple of names from below the Tehachapi at any given time... and none of those seem to be active now. (TTn3 excepted...)

Note that the Palos Verdes location is also more than 350 miles south of the TT-scale folks in the SF Bay Area...
a very long walk.
