Old truck - what type?

Old truck - what type?

Perhaps old Mack BX/BM/BQ series truck (produced in 1932-1940) will be available soon in TT.

So I have a question for the American fellows, especially for those of you who remember or know well the 1950s era.

If I model 1950s, would it be realistic to use such old truck, from 1930s?
If yes, what type of truck would be better, to be more realistic?
Maybe garbage truck? Or log trucK? Or simply farm truck with "stake bed" body? Something else?..

Hi Arseny,
If you're using it for a farm truck or something similar you can use almost anything. When I was a kid (a LONG time ago!) my grandfather owned the farm my dad does now, he had lots of old stuff! He had an old 1946 Ford that was originally a fire truck, he bought it in the 1950's sometime and made it into a flat bed for hauling on the farm. I can remember it well, so it probably lasted until the early 1970's. His "new" truck was a 1955 International! He had an older one that was junk sitting behind the barn for a long time, I don't even know what it was but it must have been from the 30's. As long as it runs, they will run it!

for certain applications old trucks last a long time. Farms and other onsite industries, guys like junk dealers that can't afford better, etc. A 1935 truck would be 20 years old in 1955 or about the same as a 1993 truck now....DaveB
