I agree. I have a great deal of appreciated of the Lackawana and the later Erie Lackawana, primarily due to Steamtown, USA in Scranton, PA. This is why I have a cat named Phoebe Snow.

This is pure awesomeness. I really wish I was at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC this week.

Yes, that is the 20 locomotives in Norfolk Southern's Heritage fleet.

I will say this: I am impressed with how fast NS churned those out, considering how things went with Union Pacific's heritage program, and how long the 6 units in their heritage fleet took to be released, and how it was getting difficult to tell if UP was painting locomotives or trying to breed pandas.

Also the level of research done to insure the accuracy of the paint schemes in representing the schemes used by the original railroads, is pretty amazing. I understand they even contacted historical societies for more complete info, including paint chips, to make sure it was done right.

There is a bunch of stuff coming out in regards the the "NS 20". There is a guy on eBay that makes prints of locomotives called East Hamlet Junction that offers a set of prints that covers the entire fleet, and according to the rumor mill at Trains.com, there will be a large section in Locomotive 2012, which is due out this fall, dedicated to the Norfolk Southern Heritage Fleet.

Also, it looks like the NS heritage fleet is now in active duty, so those of us that live in NS territory might want to keep a camera handy.

So this guy on ebay, can you give his ebay name so I can keep a lookout for the prints?

Here is the link to his store: http://stores.ebay.com/easthamletjunction

We have a lot of his posters, including all of his stuff related to the Chessie System and the Southern Railway. One of our earlier posts has a picture that shows a few of the prints framed and on a wall.
