NMRA 2014 Convention in Cleveland, Ohio

Postby AstroGoat760 » Fri Jul 19, 2013 7:53 pm

The 2014 NMRA Convention and National Train Show will be in Cleveland, Ohio. The NMRA Convention runs 13-19 July 2014, and the National Train Show runs 18-20 July 2014.

We are looking into the possibility of making the show with at least twice the number modules that we have this year (5), and will plan on having a donut shaped layout that can support at least two continuous running trains and a train yard with a possible engine yard.

Any one else thinking of going?

Just about every year I take the train to Ohio to visit family. I'll try to plan around the show in Cleveland.

And congratulations to all for the displays in Atlanta.

Right now, we are looking into additional modules for the 2014 NTS, and we are open to suggestions for themes for some of them.

How about we create a TT scale club modular layout, the members of which meet once a year at the national convention?

To get quickly moving, lets adopt FreeMo specs ( http://www.free-mo.org/standard ) and get started! I pledge to begin building a Free-Mo module this week and take it to the Cleveland show as soon as one other person makes a similar commitment.

DNS flex track for the main lines? Era, one that includes the SW1200?

Over the years, we could assemble an ever larger TT scale presentation that includes new products and information for model railroaders and the public.

Brian if I come I'll either be empty handed or with my layout.

It's only because the show is in Cleveland and I annually travel to Ohio that I can think about attending the show. I have no idea how I'd bring along a freemo style module. At best I can only help staffing the exhibit, and I can bring some locos and rolling stock. There's more to say but for the moment just asking about DNS track -- is David Schneider still selling TT track? I got some from him several years ago. It was made by Krueger and I like it but the rail height isn't the same as Tillig flex.
