Well... Not Quite:

The MTB pre-production model photos are for a UTC-built 40ft Funnel Flow... (Union Tank Car)
most commonly seen in use by their leasing company, UTLX (Union Tank car Leasing)
...or for their Canadian affiliate Procor (PROX).

RCRX 1956 in the photo is an acid tank car... with a straight-top tank and some horizontal weld lines...
unlike the Funnel Flow which has six radial sections, and a slant from both ends to the middle.

There are plenty of prototypes in different color & lettering schemes for the Funnel Flow cars...
They were often used in clay service and for foodstuffs like corn syrup.

No need for "foobies" at this early date.

Remember... BTS went so far as to actually produce and box some of their laser designs in TT... http://www.btsrr.com/btstt.htm
The demand has been underwhelming.

BTS does not accept Paypal, and does not accept cards online. Otherwise I'd order some their kits just now.

One of Rob's photos shows a portion of a modular layout in Sn2. This was a large really nicely done layout. It was run from a computer. I was waiting to take a photo of a locomotive but before it got to me it stopped at a turnout set against it. Unfortunately they couldn't get the computer to throw the turnout.

Here are a few more photos of the Sn2.

And it appears that MTH have models in the old Lionel standard gauge. They're huge.
Also here's a picture of a simple oval display which could be done in TT.

The second display above is wonderful and can absolutely be done in TT.

A short report about the fair:

According to a NMRA official the visitors count would be around 6000 a 7000 visitors. I did not stay long enough to hear the end count. I had about 90 visitors a the small TT stand. From talking with them I made 75 notes with 3 questions:
1) do you know gauge TT
2) what is positive about TT
3) what is negative

Interested people I referred to TT-Nut.

50 of the 75 did know TT. One guy thought it was a GDR, (East Germany), creation. 49 were positive about the scale, 16 were positive about the tracks I showed. The negative comment was unanimous: TT is not available. Again if people were really interested I referred them to TT-Nut.

After being 2 weeks in the US and talking with modellers, I have the feeling there is a market.

Alex, I want to thank you here for the opportunity and the experience.

Kind regards,
Rob
