NMRA 2014 Convention in Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland would be a real possibility, don't know if I could do more than one or two days but it would be neat to get everyone we could in one place at the same time. It's less than 2 hrs. away for me, and I might be able to drag along a couple others like Tom Collard or even John Harmon. There are a couple other TT'ers that are relatively close too, maybe we could set a record for the most TT'ers in one spot since 1960 or something?
A module might be possible, but I'd have to get cracking on it- it's only a year away, that would be pushing it for me!

For those that are curious, our modular layout was a modified TTnut.com module spec type.

Since we are talking about future NMRA conventions, the 2017 NMRA convention will be in Orlando, Florida.
I have been informed by Kathy (my wife) that we are going.
A bit far to drive, 50 or so hours, we might be flying so if there is to be a TT-Tracks layout there, Bill in Florida need to get busy.<G>

Oooo, hope I didn't step on toes with my FreeMo suggestion. I haven't kept up with module threads.

Maybe I should proceed with my two layout sections (Newport, NH, in 14 feet, based on RMC drawings) and wait to see what might develop in the TT module world. Do we have set TT module standards, or are they not yet settled?

Free-Mo is a good idea. There was a link to a Polish site a while ago that showed some good Fremo modelling.

I have considered Free-Mo both in TT and in HO - to replace the HO modular group I am drifting away from.

I would like a more Fremo concept with variable profile ends rather then the US 6" flat Free-Mo standard.

There is or was a discussion about TT module standards.
When I expand from my TT-Tracks display I will jump to a TT Free-Mo style rather go the conventional modular route.

Bill,

I'd sure be interested in hearing about what moves you make one day in TT Free-Mo. Please post.

This is sort of funny. The main reason why the TTnut.com module spec was dropped was because the thinking back then was that nobody would even think of trying to do a confab with another TTnutter, when we managed to get two layouts to the last National Train Show.

Now all the ideas come flying in.

We are already drawing up specs to convert our 5 module TTnut.com spec layout from 4' x 8' to 10' x 12', with the center being open to allow the operators to work from the inside out.
