New layout

You guys are really making me think about the curves. I will have to set up some track at 396 and see how the long passenger wagons look. If push comes to shove I may be able to eek out a couple more inches of width - but, two inches is 5cm and im not sure it will make a whole world of difference going from 396mm to 421mm radius. I'll have to experiment a bit.

After more thought, I've pushed the width to the absolute limits and the two curves at either ends of the layout are now 410mm radius. I've also widened the single line curve at the "corner" to 500mm radius. I've decided to keep the yard switches as EW1s. Also some small changes to the industrial yard. And oh yeah, the plan all along has been a mirror of what it will actually be (don't ask). So here is the version I will build.

I'll second that. The freight area sandwiched between the main and the yard has a good look to it.

Nothing really cool to show yet but here are a couple of pics of the progress (and one of what things should ultimately look like)

HA! The new place? It's fine - nothing special - just an apartment.

The area in the pictures WAS our dining room
