Native Englishmen or Americans are wanted

Postby Arseny » Fri Apr 03, 2015 7:42 am

While studying English language I had a dispute with my father about using "a" and "the" articles in English.
Can anybody with native English help me?

Should I use the "a" indefinite article in this phrase:
"He is in a bad mood" ?

Or maybe it is an error?.. Maybe it is correct to use "the" or maybe not use article at all?..

Well... I don't speak English; I'm American!!!!!

"He is in the bad mood" ? - implies there is one 'bad mood'... and the subject is in it
NO

"He is in a bad mood" ? - implies there are many 'bad moods'... and the subject is in one of them
