NA on German FKTT Modules

NA on German FKTT Modules

Postby MacG » Fri Nov 30, 2012 4:48 pm

I'm planning a station on modules with the norm FKTT.

It is a single line main with some locals. I have the option to connect the stub tracks (at the both ends of the station) with a double line main. It consist of 6 segments with 50 x 90 cm (ca. 19.7" x 35,4"). The track length at the station can grow with a additional segments. At the right side are three of my planned modules of a siding. Four segments can I connect in my living room, with the curved siding at one end.

I will use Tillig tacks and turnouts, EW3 for main track and siding and EW2 for local or yards.

What do you think? I haven't the original before my door. ;)

I quite like it. Will there be a track for passengers?

@scaro: :?: the curved track at the right? That is a siding. The rest of the track and the second turnout is not in the plan.

@ConducTTor: Not yet. I think about it where and how. I prefer without a platform, perhaps with stairs like this? Or is this only a modern thing. My era to build is the classic until 1980. Another option is. I own the BTS Passenger Station. Can this station located at the brown track near the furniture facility or must it be between two tracks at the mainline?

I have to plead ignorance to your questions......I'm much better at German than American prototype....

Is there already some kind of community of FKTT folks interested in making NA FKTT modules? Or are you still alone with this idea?

@jpachl: No, there are some guys, who want to build NA-FKTT modules. Four of them have solid intentions. The community of FKTT will help us to begin with matching modules (fiddle yard etc.) and digital equipment.
I contact you at the time, because of the required signals. You can help me, to find the right locations for.

Attached a reworked plan. It is not my favorite, but it shows a idea with the station at the main. The switcher shed is removed. Next I will straighten the rail and move the station to the siding (at lower left).

How much is the space between the middle of this tracks? I would guess approximate 23 feet. At the model 58 mm. Or is it less?

The use of signals depends on the desired era and operating procedure (T&TO, TWC/DTC, ABS, CTC). Are there already ideas on the type of operation to be modelled?
