Motor kit for Lionel's Hudson

Postby Murad » Mon Oct 19, 2015 2:33 pm

Hi everybody!
Found a guy in Russia who is ready to make a motor kit for Lionel's Hudson for 160-180$. No side frames for trucks, so you will have to use your own. Anybody interested? Will order mine in the beginning of january 2016.

The kit will include:
Motorized frame for tender with trucks
New frame with trucks, wheels and all the poles.
We'll discuss about cylinders so you will have to put the boiler on and run it!

Will he be using existing parts from other manufacturers or create all new pieces? If using existing, do you know what he will use?

The main problem right now is to find suitable wheels. But it's possible to use Lionel's wheels with new metal rims on it

Maybe try BR23/35 wheels? It seems to me they can work

The wheels of a BR01 works. I chose the whole Tillig main chassis 4-6 of the locomotive.

Here is the leaflet of a Tillig BR01 item# 02004 with boxpok wheels.
