Next question: how tall should the skyboard be?

Per the NMRA standards, 8" minimum.

I guess I should have asked it better, out of the range of 8"-14", is there going to be a "standard" for our use, or is it going to be up to the builder's discretion?

Id like to see a standard height. I think that would look better than an irregular skyline.

Using a standard skyline would allow us to also use the staging area as an industrial area with the otherside city or countyside.

I agree with all this. By the way, we're all on the same page that only the mainline modules get the backdrop - correct?

I think the end modules should be included in the event we decide to put mainline modules in between the 2'x2' sections creating an actual oval with a open center.

We wouldnt need the skylines when the end modules are just used to turn the track 180 degrees.

I agree with this as well. I'll add the backdrop info to the standards.

I would think that a backdrop even for 180' sections, if done right looks pretty good, and makes a visual break between sections that can be used to insert little scenes and such in ways that may make them harder to see than if there were no backdrops at all.

8" seems a bit short to me though. I think 10" should do fine.

I have no problem with either 8 or 10. It's up to you guys.
