I know someone who is looking for a sausage or wurst called Mettendchen, is it similar to anything in the US?
He's trying to make a soup called Erbsensuppe mit wurst, if that helps!

A Google search result says it is the same as Mettwurst (or very close). Try here

My father uses smoked ham hock (like Eisbein but not boiled), as for me it's better than sausage !
