This topic has got me thinking...

With Automation and Radio/Remote Control, I wonder if they are going to start building more B-Units.

You don't need cabs on Mid-Train locomotives when you are running with "Distributed-Power".

With cameras and GPS you could put all the crew in an un-powered control cabin in the middle of the train...

The problem with B-Units is the loss of flexibility, as not every section of the railroad can use one, that was one of the reasons why they went on the wayside before.
