Logging railway in Ukraine

Postby krokodil » Tue Jan 19, 2016 2:46 am

One of the last working logging railways in south west of Ukraine.
Here is a beautiful video about this network.

The second working logging railway in the Carpathian mountains is in Romania.
Enjoy the video.

That is a nice video. Loved there on the road repairs of the axle box. No hi-tech tools involved there. Also the rerailing of a derailed car was interesting to watch. The music was great to. All in all it was a very nice done video.

It is always neat to see railroads in other countries at work. Thanks for the link.

Thank you also in name of the authors ( I use to work with two guys on other video projects) . The editor is a great guy and expert for narrow gauge trains in this area.

Fantastic video. The camera work and editing are really good. And those guys do a tough day's work.

Very enjoyable video. Very professionally done. I especially enjoyed seeing an actual "poling" operation between the loco on one track and the log buggy on a parallel track. This sort of move is very dangerous for the guy holding the "pole". The practice is outlawed in the U.S.. Also, great to see an actual "track truck" in motion. Reminds me a lot of the old Hetch Hetchy Railroad in the Sierras of California. That road had a number of track trucks.
