laser cut kits in TT?

laser cut kits in TT?

Postby Marquette » Sun Aug 26, 2012 1:37 am

A while ago there was some discussion of a manufacturer of laser-cut structure kits who will do any of his line in TT, but now I can't find the thread... I thought it was BTS, but looking at his website, I don't see the item I'm after - I remember that whoever it was had a New York Central/Canada Southern station building amongst his range, and I want one of these... anyone know who this was?

I suppose you are talking about RSLaser Kits - http://www.rslaserkits.com/
This is the thread: new-structures-t1435.html
But I did not find any TT-scale kits on their site.

Also maybe you are talking about Thomas Schwarz's kits - http://ideenladen.de/index.php?id=13
This is the thread: american-style-buildings-t1256-10.html?hilit=ideenladen#p15301
and also
wooden-railway-station-photo-need-t1553.html
They planned to produce wooden station, but needed a good photos.

Or maybe you can use Busch's station:
busch-freight-station-t1391.html#p13994
(of course Busch will not produce any station you need in TT but maybe this one is suitable)

Do you plan to contact them? Please tell us about the result. I want to order american station building too.
(But if they refuse to produce it in TT, maybe you can to use some H0-scale kit, like Ingo Schwaetzer did with the "Fred&Red" diner from Blair Line ( https://picasaweb.google.com/Ingo.Schwa ... 1056498562 )

If they won't do it in TT, I'll just scratchbuild - the point of my interest is that it is specifically a Canada Southern station from southwest Ontario.

Though if the TT price is similar to the HO price, I may well just scratchbuild anyways - the price of the one kit would get me supplies for 5 or 6 scratchbuilt stations...

One Czech company makes laser cut buildings.
Their www page is only in Czech though ...

But the signal box of KFNB (Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn) might be interesting. Its prototype built in 1890 was called "America".

Yeah, that signal box looks kinda NA-Euro hybrid.

Found a few others that could be useful for an NA layout...

Coal shed: http://www.sikulovesro.cz/produkty/zele ... -uhli.aspx

Freight shed: http://www.sikulovesro.cz/produkty/zele ... acice.aspx

Factory - take the dormers and chimneys off: http://www.sikulovesro.cz/produkty/zele ... -telc.aspx

Phone booths: http://www.sikulovesro.cz/produkty/zele ... nzova.aspx

Public toilet - this'd be perfect in a park: http://www.sikulovesro.cz/produkty/zele ... evlin.aspx

The "Factory" is actually a grain storage / granary.
:)
All their models have real prototypes. I like that approach.

I do, too.

The one thing that has always puzzled me, though, is why they'll take a station building from Town A, the signal tower from Town D, an oil shed from Town K and a freight shed from Town Z... why not take them all from the same place, if present?
