I talked to Lok n Roll about these. A small note about them: they are made for Lok n Roll's castings of the shells. I don't know what they based their casting on though. I have the Elmer castings which I assume are based on the original Kemtron parts. I'll buy the Lok n Roll windows and see what happens.

I have used a different method to power the dummy truck using some NWSL shaft stock and universal joints with an additional gearbox. Cut the tower off one gearbox (easier than cutting the "fan"). Remove the worms and spur gear from one shaft. Cut a piece of axle stock 3/16" (5mm) longer than the original. Put the worms and spur on this shaft placed so that the extension points toward the other truck. Remove the spur gear from the shaft in the cutoff gearbox and turn the truck so that the extension points to the center. Fit a universal shaft between the trucks. I used the old Hobbytown of Boston universal kit. I purchased some from Micro Mark not too long ago. Others should work as long as the shaft can slip at one end on curves.

I have always thought highly of the original Kemtron motor. First produced in the 1950's, it was was ahead of the others with a skewed armiture. Is the noise a whine or from the gears?

Please keep us informed about that.
If they fit, I'll buy them too.
