After two hours, brake fluid is doing the trick!

I've made some progress with this project. Primed everything, sprayed the trucks black and gave the shells the first coat of color.

Bad news, I messed up the second coat of paint  :wall: It was a bright and sunny day but my guess is, the temperature was below the recommended temperature and the shells where not warm enough for the paint. That means the surface isn't smooth after the last coat. NO chance to fix it. I'll leave it like this (for now). :wall:

Maybe remove the paint coat completely and start painting again?

NO Problem...
Just take off the CN lettering and put on Conrail decals... weather them heavily, and they will be quite prototypical!

(I'm not sure Conrail ever inherited Alco F-units...)

I was trying to make some windowpanes for the A units. What can I say, it was more like window"pain". It's not as easy as it seems. The brass hood section with the cab windows is thicker than the rest. I couldn't just glue some clear plastic in from behind. I was using 1.1mm clear plastic from a "Ferrero Rocher" box. After some clipping, cutting, filing, scraping and most of all CURSING the result is not good!!! First of all I should have done this before painting. It's not a problem because I messed up the paint job anyway.
(In my next life I have to try some vacuum forming for the windows.) Any other ideas and suggestions are appreciated!
Here are some "nice" macro shots of my "masterpiece". It looks good from 3m (10ft) away :wall:
