I was browsing through one of my Model Railroaders from 1967, December to be exact and found these two interesting bits.

Since I prefer to stick to actual US prototypes:
1) Turbine?
I would think one of the PRR aficionados could put a power chassis under the Lionel Century Club S-2...
The lack of valve gear on the turbine would make this quite do-able.

2) Cab Forward
I don't think I have enough lifetime track in front of me to be able to do a Southern Pacific AC-class (Articulated Consolidation) 4-8-8-2 cab-forward from scratch.

3) Business Car
YES! For passenger train-phobic types like myself... a business car is perfect. It can run light with just one engine (Corporate Officer's Special)... or at the end of a freight (Shipper's Special)
