Industrial structures

Industrial structures

Postby Arseny » Thu Feb 23, 2012 3:18 am

I have a question about buildings again :)

I have some Auhagen TT-scale structures. Can anybody of you tell me, if any of them will work as American buildings, for the American layout?..
(Of course they are German, but maybe some industrial buildings were international and/or were used in USA too?..)

Some of the Structures are very european, you might get away with the gravel pit and the old plant, however the others look more like european buildings, however I'm not a complete pro at American architecture except for the very square shaped buildings seen on most american layouts..

The engine shed - get rid of the two small "houses" on the roof. The administrative building - give it a flat roof. The firehall might work, too, with a flat roof. The others are, in my opinion, much too European, though the windmill would work if you're modelling someplace that was settled by Dutch immigrants...

So, Wisconsin, Michigan, maybe Ohio or Pennsylvania ? Just "my" region!

As for locomotive shed - it is no problem to remove "houses" on the roof; sometimes they are removing by themselves, without any assistance... :)

Do you think the gravel pit and old plant are too "european"? I was sure they would work, especially the gravel pit...

Oh, no, sorry - I think the gravel pit and the old plant would be fine, too!
