Yes, its good to have you back.

I'm looking forward to hearing how you are making out with your 3D printing.

Hi Don. Thanks for the welcome.

I wasn't working on 3D printing. What I am working on is a 3D drawing program called Design Spark Mechanical. They call it the 3D design software for the non-CAD engineers. LINK: http://www.rs-online.com/designspark/electronics/ The program is similar to Sketch-Up. DS allows you to pick either mm or imperial dimensioning. And it outputs an STL file for 3D CAM or 3D printing. The best part it's free.

I have looked into the table top 3d printers such as here: LINK: http://www.3dsystems.com/3d-printers/professional/projet-1200 I'm waiting for the price to to go down.

In the mean time I'm getting better at using my Sherline CNC mill.

Here at Germany is the price for this ProJet 1200 4.500€. I asked a reseller at a 3D-fair.

Yes it's still quite high in price. I'm hoping it will go down someday. Or that cheaper ones will get better in printing resolution.
