Charleston Area Train Show

Postby AstroGoat760 » Mon Sep 04, 2017 9:20 am

The 2017 Charleston Area Train Show is bring held on November 18th and 19th, 2017 in North Charleston, SC.

This show used to be known as the "Best Friend of Charleston Train Show", which was the name of the show back when I was stationed in Goose Creek, SC (in the Charleston, SC area), it was the very first Train Show that CaTT and I went to ever, and where we first got into O gauge as well.

The plans are at this time to go to the show with our new portable TT scale layout in tow.

Does anyone else think that they will be able to go? There is much to see and do in Charleston!

"Lackawanna Avenue" in N. Charleston, that's funny. Btw, I was stationed n Goose Creek also...USS Estocin AE-28, 1986-89. Lived straight out Red Bank Road, just beyond the first light on Cranford Road....memories.

We used to live on Webster Street, near the base commissary.

Back on topic here, we are setup for the show, at least on paper we are. The layout(s) are being worked on. I say layout(s) as we are planning on building a second 3'x4' layout for the show using BTTB track to accommodate some of our other models, such as Rokal, stuff with deeper flanges.

The base of the first layout is red, any suggestions for the second small layout?

What exactly do you mean by base.....layouts will not have scenery, but be on a painted base? Have you shown a track plan? :eh:
