Help Id Steam Locomotive

Postby marc115028 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 6:47 am

Hello Everyone,
I need help trying to Identify this Locomotive. I think it is Hudson J model & suspect it is made by HP products. Can anyone confirm or shed light on who the marker might be? Has anyone ever seen one similar? I'm trying to restore it, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Marc

Could you measure the gauge?
It is not H.P. Products.
If the gauge is 10 mm then it is Hudson from the original Micro-Trains, Sweden, scale HOO, 1/150. And if that is the case, I know someone who was searching for it.

Wow, that's exactly what I have. Coal Tender has hole in it. I thought it was bad casting. Now it makes sense where the motor was. What is this a picture of

As far as gauge, it does not fit on N scale track. It is just a tad bit wider but smaller then HO. Which is why I thought it was TT scale

Thanks Areibel & J P
I had come across Micro Trains from Sweden originally but thought they made N scale and this appeared slightly bigger. So it is Original Micro-train from Sweden before they was bought by US company?

Yes, they were their own company (and scale, unfortunately) but considering their age they were well done.
They are very rare, so finding parts will be an issue but if you PM me I can give you John Harmon's contact info. I know he found a little bit more after I swapped him that one, so he may have some suggestions or a few spare parts.
