Happy New Year TTers!!!!!

Happy New Year TTers!!!!!

Postby ConducTTor » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:21 am

It's been a.........tumultuous year to say the least.

Leaving the "real" world behind, I can tell you the following: this site has given me a tremendous amount of pleasure. I have read every single post and have communicated with many of you privately. I feel like I know you guys / galls. More than one would on a random forum with thousands of members.

I wish all of you the very best in the coming year - I have a good feeling for it. Both in general and TT wise - there are good things to come.

Here is a toast to 2009 whatever it may have been. In 22 hours, I will toast you again for 2010.

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year everyone, and many happy hours of TTing in 2010!
My order from ModellBahnWelt is stuck in Customs and will not be here this year, but 2009 has already had enough great things happen, the major one being the launch of ttnut.com! Thanks, ConducTTor for getting (and keeping) it going!

2009 sucked, at least for me it has.
The way that my new doctor is pursuing my present medical problems, 2010 should be a better year for me.

Does anyone have plans for New Years?

Or is everyone going to just get drunk and make an Haggis out of themselves, which I guess can be a plan in itself.

ConducTTor, are you going to go to Underground Atlanta tonight for the Peach Drop?

I went there for New Year's 2002/2003, and I had a blast. I was the only one there in uniform, and I got a lot of hugs and salutes and offers of free drinks (I was 19 at the time, so I turned the drinks down). I really wished that the hobby store that was down there was open that night, as there was some interesting trains in their windows.....

Happy New Beers!

Šťastný nový rok! Usually this phrase would be giving my drunken lungs a workout while lighting fireworks from the cliff at the cabin, but its my year to work. So, I'll be spending a fun filled week in the middle of nowhere northern Canada... You think its cold where you are? Please.

@ 'Sailor

No Underground for me. There is a nice little restaurant close to the zoo where we've done new years the last couple of years.

@ CSD

I thought it was cold where I am. I don't anymore

That's weird. How do you know it's in customs? I've had many orders from overseas and I never got a call (?) from customs.

Canada Post web site says "2009/12/30 17:28 MISSISSAUGA International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs". I expect they will simply slap duties, taxes (13%), and a processing fee on it and let it through. Mississauga is the city just west of Toronto where the international Airport is located.

On the positive side, all those locos will be my first TT acquisition for 2010! Not a bad way to start a year!

@Sailor: All the best with your health in the new year!

So long as it's a dry cold!

I was able to tolerate -20 at noon (when it was completely windless) for a week and a half about 150km from Vladivostok a lot better than I can take even -2 in Vancouver!

And happy new year / bonne année / sretnu novu godinu / boldog uj évet to everyone!

Reminds me of Michigan (I grew up there). At least you got sunshine. Atlanta has been dark and rainy for about a month now....miserable.
