I swear to the railroad gods, it was only two or three months ago that I was reading homages to Alex for the arrival of yet another birthday (I refuse to congratulate Alex for another orbit of our granite rock around the sun -- it's depressing . . . for me, anyway ;-(

How time speeds up with advancing years. Geesh. I'm not kidding, I'm alarmed! It seems so recent that Alex was being wished a Happy Birthday by youse guys. It's frightening. Am I the only one? . . .

(BTW, Alex, I do not wish you an unhappy birthday, but the passing years can begin to weigh one down ;-)

When I was 17 I just smirked and laughed at my dad when he said that from here on out the years are just gonna get shorter and shorter, not believing him. Well and now here we are, I had the 20th anniversary of my 20th birthday this year... and it still feels like it was just a few months ago that I turned 30! So no, you're not the only one... it is scary!
