Hey guys,

the Great Train Expo in Puyallup is rolling. Check out some of the pictures from yesterday and what else I did the last weeks:

Interesting comment that you lost one engine on the ICE. The exact same thing happened to me at the Nationals this summer. I wonder if powering both heads is putting an extra strain on the motors - as in, they are not "synchronized" and one is acting as a break on the other.

I think that this happens in situations where one engine got stuck/derailed or without power and the other one is still going. The motors which are in the heads are pretty big and pull a lot of power which might has burned my decoder. I will take it apart these coming days after I got everything sorted out and in place again at home.

Yesterday was a beautiful day with perfectly running trains! I just left my "beauties" in the display and just run my most reliable engines. This paid out pretty well.

I took a bunch of pictures and videos which I will post later... and the guys from Trackside Model Railroading shot some pro pictures and vids for their magazine! Some more advertisement for TT!

Really enjoyed the neat photos of the TT layout. I confess that I'm inspired to try to build a small portable TT layout to haul around to some shows that are in my area. Specifically, I'm headed to the Great Train Expo this weekend at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California. I'm going "loaded" with a dial caliper, plastic TT model card and scale ruler to do some serious scavenging for TT stuff and stuff in other scales that can be adapted to TT.

Great job Knuddlefisch.

You should do it! Going to shows and running the trains is a great time and I love that thanks to mine I actually have a finished layout at home to play with :)

Yes, build your portable layout and get out there!
Alone the fact that it is TT, the only model railroad gauge which originated in the US, makes it special and fun to share!!
Here is more sugar for the brain... even it is a little shaky as I had not much time to concentrate on good iPhone camera movements during the expo...

No I have to repair what was broken during the weekend...

    ICE decoder
Burned switch in the staging area
    Ripped wires from a signal
    Twisted rails in my helix

There is always something to do!!

Drat!!!
I didn't see this message until today (Monday) because I ignored the "Puyallup" topic.
I was there... at GTE Pleasanton both days. <sigh>

Apologies...

BTW: Was there as part of the On30 Yosemite Short Line...
