Google translator

Postby LVG1 » Wed May 01, 2013 8:49 am

For some weeks "Google Translator" bar has opened whenever I go onto a this forum.
I don't want this tool. If I wouldn't understand English, I wouldn't visit this site. And it's extremely annoying to me that this unrequested tool imposes itself upon me again and again and again and again...
When I click on "deactivate for English", it reopens when I go on the next subpage. So I use the option "Deactivate for this website" every time; but when I close and reopen the browser, this bar opens again.
Initially I thought, it was a new "feature" of my browser (Opera). But interestingly, it happens only when I visit "www.ttnut.com", but not when I visit another non-German website. So I suspect this forum's software to be the peeve. Am I right?
How can I get rid of that f***ing tool?

I added Google translator to the site a few weeks ago - I thought it would be helpful since we get traffic from several non English speaking countries. I'll see if it's possible to change anything so it's not annoying.

May be it could be helpful for not registered users.
Or is there an option that registered users can activate / deactivate this tool by themselves?
... so that it keeps to this choice (depending on the IP)?

It's just some code being pulled from Google. It's in no way tied to the board so there's no way to change functioanlity between registered/unregistered.

Try it out again - but delete your browser's cache for this website. I made a change and hopefully it won't be as annoying.

Yes, I've seen. The toolbar isn't there anymore.
