Future TT: Scan - Print

Future TT: Scan - Print

Postby Richard-B » Mon Feb 04, 2013 1:22 pm

Is the future of TT-scale 1:1 scan... and 1:120 print?

In the not so distant future:
- Scan 1:1 prototype freight car or engine at 0.02mm 0.2mm accuracy...
- Select 1:120 scale... and material...
- Hit "Print"

It -is- already happening!

...especially if the prototype doesn't exist anymore...

I convinced them to add a TT-scale option... either 1:120 or 3mm...
to the Kickstarter page.

I'm ALL IN!
This will make a unique static load on one of my flatcars... (maybe a depressed-center - FD).
The "Winifred" was actually brought to the US and stored under the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!!!!

I am also in.
It seems to me that they made a mistake in maths. Most of the models in other scales are already sold out but the total ammount of money has not reached their goal. They should add more :)

I thought the same...
Flexiscale under-anticipated demand at the smaller end... and over-expected things at the high end.
Sooo... This morning it looks like they added additional (higher-priced) subscription tiers for the high-demand offers.

That's part of the learning curve of a Kickstarter project... to understand where your market really is.

Has anyone received their kit or should it be considered as lost money?
They do not send any updates anymore...

LOST...
I even filed a complaint with Kickstarter.
Not surprisingly... in October, Kickstarter revised their Terms of Use:
https://www.kickstarter.com/terms-of-use

Quote: "The creator is solely responsible for fulfilling the promises made in their project. If they’re unable to satisfy the terms of this agreement, they may be subject to legal action by backers."
...which means Kickstarter does not actually plan to enforce anything!
