Forum Rules

Postby ConducTTor » Thu Jun 11, 2009 2:26 pm

The rules are simple:
1. It's all about 1/120 scale modeling
2. The MAIN purpose of this forum is to promote 1/120 scale in the US.
3. Keep it at least somewhat civilized
4. Spam the board and I'll spam YOU. Seriously.
5. Have fun!

P.S.
6. Whatever you post on this site becomes property of this site. The reason? If you decide to leave and ask me to remove all of your content, I have to work. Since I don't get paid for running this site, I don't want extra work.

Basic Forum Guidelines

These guidelines apply only to TTnut forums. We cannot monitor or be responsible for discussions in emails, private messages, messages on other message boards, newsgroups, or mailing lists.

Avatars, Usernames and Signatures can be anything you choose, but please let's keep it clean. Also, please avoid inserting a bunch of animations. That stuff gets pretty old, fast, when you have to look at it all the time.

In general, you are expected to respect your fellow forum frequenters. Lively heated discussion is encouraged, if and when appropriate, but please use common sense/good judgment. The Golden Rule here is treat others as you would like to be treated. Feel free to post anything that relates to the topic at hand. It's perfectly okay to deviate from the topic a bit, but if what you have to say doesn't pertain to the specific topic, try to find a forum where it might or start your own (don’t hijack your fellow members discussions). When starting your own tread, please be as specific as you can with the topic title. Titles such as “help”, “look at this” or “picture” are too generic and make site organization and searches difficult.

Keep in mind, not everyone is going to agree, and in those instances, just agree to disagree and leave it at that. If you have a valid argument in support of your view, please contribute. If you are in disagreement with something someone has posted, remember you are combating a person's viewpoint and opinion, not the actual person. Don't let the discussions get personal. The following list of conduct is considered unacceptable:

-Harassing, insulting, taunting, nasty remarks or name-calling.
-Any statement that defames, abuses, or threatens others, derogatory statements that could be construed as bigoted, hateful, or racially offensive; or comments defaming sexual orientation.
-Material that advocates illegal activity, or discusses illegal activities with the intent to commit them. This includes any type of threat such as death (including suicide) or bodily harm
-Messages that are simply quotes of other messages without any additional comments
-Material that contains vulgar, obscene, or indecent language
-Sexually explicit language, images or other content (pornography). Obscene language and/or graphics are not acceptable. No pornography or photos depicting explicit nudity (this includes, but is not limited to, photos that show full frontal or rear nudity).
-Attacks and/or Retaliation of any kind either against a member or group of members.
-Repeated messages a.k.a. spam. This also means no repetitive posting to increase your post count. Also, please do not post the same subject on more than one forum board; cross-posts may be removed.
-Posing and Shilling. Always post under your own username: do not share logins with other users. Do not pose as another user with a screen name well-known to the group. Do not register multiple screen names in order to post under different identities (shilling). Do not register for banned users.
-Absolutely no trolling. A person who enters an established forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, most often in the form of posting inflammatory, off-topic, or otherwise inappropriate messages will not be tolerated.
-Other Online Etiquette to keep in mind: Posting in all CAPITAL LETTERS is most often considered shouting, so keep it to a minimum please.

What is done if there is an offense?

The offending member or members will be contacted via PM and informed of the offence and issued a warning for minor infractions. Continued or serious offences can result in the removal of posts, revoking of posting privileges or banning and account deletion. Admin and Moderators reserve the right to ban users, remove individual posts or revoke posting privileges of users who violate these guidelines.

What can you do if you think there has been an offence?

You can help monitor this forum by alerting the Admin or Mods if you see any threatening, offensive, or possible spam messages. If you take offense to a particular post, or feel it is inappropriate in any way based on our established guidelines, alert the Admin or Mods via PM and it will then be decided what action should be taken, if any. Please do not report offences in pubic forums. While the Admin and Mods will definitely review any messages brought to their attention, it will be their decision whether to remove or edit the message, or, ultimately, revoke posting privileges.
