First attempt.

my first attempt at painting my loco. Even after masking all parts that were to kept black i still had spillover. I give anyone who does this professionally a lot of respect.

A suggestion: after masking, give it all another coat of the first colour, this will seal any spots where seepage might occur.

That's pretty common. I just take a small brush and cut the color back in. For small stuff like N or TT scale masking can be difficult so learning to use a brush is a good skill to have .....DaveB

Oh, this also works well for masking parts to remain clear - mask it, and then seal the edges of the mask with clear gloss before painting. I use this method for masking canopies on airplane models and get great results.
