Favorite Canadian Locomotive?

Postby Richard-B » Mon Dec 07, 2015 1:44 pm

It has been suggested that I'm not much of a fan of Canadian locomotives...
Here is my absolute favorite... from London, Ontario!

Ok... they were only 'in' Canada... not actually 'Canadian'.
I suppose they were either on lease or working off a horsepower-hours trade.

The as-built serial numbers look to be from EMD La Grange... not EMD Canada.
Photos from the 1980's and early 1990's don't have ditch lights... those from 1995 or so onward do.

Being a little bit of an Alco fan and having the local RR running a few MLW survivors I'd say something like this-

Yeah, that's my current big wish for TT- An Alco C424/425. One of the few diesels that would be at home on any layout from the 1960's up to today.
I hope Santa is listening!
