<snip> I have many questions.
Maisto flat cars and gondolas. I have never seen these. Anybody have some to sell.
Did NAFTA Trains ever produce any models?
What happened to DnS TT track?
  • Maisto Flat + Army Tanks: Pure Unobtanium... Never saw one
  • Maisto Gon: Rarer than the regular cars; one end is completely flat, they forgot to cut details into the mold!
  • NAFTA (Alberta CA): 'Produce' is such a pejorative word after so many promises...
Some guy in California ended-up with some very incomplete master parts.
  • DnS Track: Owner was David Schneider in Fort Wayne IN... Have not heard the name in many years.
Reading these TT-Empire scans is going to be like an Easter egg hunt!!!

It seems to me that DnS TT in fact were the Krueger-TT tracks, i.e. the same as Russian TT-Model tracks.
If yes, the production was ceased due to Mr.Krueger illness and death.

But maybe I'm wrong...

Glad they got there ok. Have fun! The history of TT is littered with failed promises and pipe dreams, but it is still chugging along!

I think you are right Arseny, DnS was Krueger track. I remember it wasn't the same size rail as Tillig, but it would work with a little effort.
And NAFTA Trains was only one of the names that guy used- If it was from Red Deer Alberta (if I remember correctly) then RUN! I ordered several items from him, and only got my money back through Paypal when nothing ever shipped. I think he's still dabbling a bit in TT on Shapeways, I'm pretty sure he's Steel Horse Models. I got a message from him back when the GP38-2 shell was coming, telling me he was getting ready to import an injection molded GP38 in a complete TT train set. I haven't seen them yet, and I'm not holing my breath!

DnS track is Krueger, made in Germany, according to the label as shown in attached photo. I bought some from DnS back in the 90's. It is flex track in half metre lengths. It is code 70, I believe, compatible with Kuehn track. I used the flex track with Kuehn's starter set track for a show display. Tillig track is higher, code 80 perhaps. I think the half metre length is very convenient. I prefer these brands to Tillig.

DnS turnouts, however, were made by Bing. I have four but they are in storage and not available to photograph. They are well made and code 70, but the points sit higher than the other rails due to the pivots underneath, making them approximately code 80 there. Couplers catch on these higher parts, so I won't use the turnouts, unless I can figure out how to modify them.

Went into work an hour early today to scan all the issues Tom Van Hoy sent me.
They are all saved in a directory on my new computer.
I need to adjust file names.
Then I will post a list of what I still need.

Every issue I received has been scanned and is in the computer now.
The attached list shows what issues I have and what I am looking for.
I still have to check the scans to see what Issues I need better copies of.
If someone has the master if the index file, it can be updated with the last five years of issues.
I should have the last few years of issues but I think that they were lost in a computer change a few years ago.
I have a source for more issues.
When I get those I will update the scanned file and ask if anybody can supply the missing issues.
