Detail parts?

Detail parts?

Postby ctxmf74 » Mon May 30, 2016 1:11 am

Anyone know of a reliable source for common detail parts like brake wheels( plastic or brass) some brass ladder stock like the old HP boxcars used along with plastic brake gear castings( cylinder, valve, and tank). I have some old cars missing parts that I'd like to repair along with some scratch building projects that will need the parts. .....DaveB

Hmmm, the only source I can think of maybe having such parts is Lok N Roll.

You could always try John Harmon.

Agree with ConducTTor.

You know the add-on details in Gold Coast's boxcars, the sprues with the brake parts etc? Used to be available separately from Gold Coast... Lok n Roll should be encouraged to sell those separately, too!

3SMR used to have a separate page for the US prototype detail parts they sold but it won't come up right now-

Maybe send them a message through their other website and see, the parts were the white metal castings originally offered by John Fisher. http://www.3smr.co.uk/

Thanks to all who offered some suggestions. I'm really surprised that there is so little thought given to this kind of stuff. TT is so far a builder's scale and to build we need parts. Lots of folks are interested in new locos but few seem to be interested in the more necessary basic parts.....DaveB
